Money Matters

Financial Requirements

Show enough funds for a strong, credible visa profile.

Official Legal Minimum
≈ €3,410

Baseline for one year (subsistence minimum). The embassy calculates €56 per day of stay — reduced to €26/day if accommodation is already paid.

IndoGerman Recommendation
€8,000 – €10,000

Maintain this in liquid funds where possible for a much stronger profile. Student account preferred; sponsor account accepted with a notarised sponsorship declaration.

Bank statement rules: within the last 90 days, bank stamped & signed, showing 3–6 months of transaction history. Savings/liquid accounts preferred — FD/Mutual Funds without liquidation remain a grey area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not always. Many universities accept an MOI (Medium of Instruction) certificate instead of IELTS. Some programmes still require IELTS — it depends on the university, which we confirm for your shortlist.

Yes. A sponsor (e.g. parent) account is accepted with a notarised sponsorship declaration. A student account is preferred where possible.

The official minimum is about €3,410/year (the embassy uses €56/day, or €26/day if accommodation is prepaid). We recommend maintaining €8,000–€10,000 in liquid funds for a stronger profile.

An MEA apostille is official Government of India authentication of your documents (educational certificates & PCC), required before the Slovak Embassy will accept them.

The Slovak Embassy only accepts translations from a Slovak Ministry of Justice registered sworn translator. Normal Indian translations are rejected.

Slovakia allows limited part-time work for students alongside studies. Rules and hour limits apply — our team explains what's permitted for your status.
