A major new requirement from APS India affects Indian students applying for a Master's in Germany from the Summer Semester 2027 intake onwards.

What Just Changed?

APS India has officially introduced the Digital Master Test (dMAT) — a new mandatory step for selected Indian students applying to German Master's programs. Administered by g.a.s.t., it sits alongside (and does not replace) APS document verification. It applies to the Summer Semester 2027 intake and all future intakes.

Eligibility

You Must Give dMAT If…

YOU ARE APPLYING FOR A MASTER'S IN GERMANY

AND

YOUR BACHELOR'S DEGREE IS IN:

Engineering

Economics

Commerce

Business

Accounting

Management

Finance

Interdisciplinary programs — Engineering Management, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, FinTech & similar — may also require dMAT per the official APS affected-fields list.

What Every Student Should Know

The dMAT is an additional requirement — it does not replace APS document verification.

If your course is affected, you cannot submit your APS application without the dMAT certificate.

dMAT does not replace university (anabin) or degree recognition.

Check your university & degree recognition on anabin before registering.

It is not a pass/fail exam for APS — a low score doesn't auto-reject you.

A high score does not guarantee admission — universities evaluate your full profile.
